Annemarie Pitel

Annemarie was born on 11 February 1968 in Pretoria, South Africa and moved to New Zealand in October 2008 with her husband, Willem and stepdaughter Vanessa.

Annemarie worked for Momentum Life, one of the largest insurance companies in South Africa, for 11 years. During her time with Momentum she had various roles within the company and gained experience in most aspects of insurance administration. She was involved with policy administration at one of Momentum’s branch offices for 3 years.

Most of her time with the company was spent in the Commission and Broker Contract Administration departments at the company’s head office. She performed commission calculations and payments as well as the evaluation of broker contract applications and administration. She was also involved in the collection of commission debts.

Annemarie is passionate about client service and going the extra mile in everything she does and during her time with Momentum she received numerous awards for excellent client service.

After leaving Momentum she worked for Rentmeester Assurance where she developed and headed the Credit control department. She was with the company for 4 years and by the time she left she was Head of the Credit Control as well as Commission and the Broker and Representative Administration Departments.

Annemarie then joined Assupol Life as Marketing Adviser but soon realised that administration was her passion and that marketing was something she did not feel comfortable doing.

She then started working for Alto Boutique, a women’s clothing retailer as Office manager. She was responsible for all administration and financial duties for the head office and two branches. Annemarie worked for Alto Boutique for 3 years and left the company to emigrate to New Zealand.

Annemarie and Willem were married in 2005 and are passionate animal lovers and share their home with Vanessa; Tess, the Cavalier Spaniel X Chihuahua and Kimmy, the Ragdoll cat. They also have a tropical fish aquarium which keeps them busy and entertained.

Annemarie enjoys taking Tess for a walk, reading, making bead jewellery, watching movies and driving around with Willem on the back of their BMW R1150RT motorcycle. They love living in New Zealand and plan on exploring the Islands with the motorcycle as soon as they can find time.
